Game #3 of the 2011 Jr. Baseball tournament got underway this afternoon as Calhoun made their first appearance in the tournament against a tough Beardstown team.  Calhoun only had 9 players on the team today and that just made it that much harder playing in the early afternoon heat.  Once again, Beardstown got out to a very hot start at the plate and had a 4-1 lead heading into the bottom of the 4th inning.  That is when the big inning occurred in the game and Beardstown scored 6 runs on 1 hit, and Beardstown never looked back as they won the game 11-1 in 5 innings.  Alex Schultz went 2-3 at the plate with 2 RBI’s.  Schultz also got the win on the mound facing 12 batters, striking out 4, and only surrendering one hit.  The lone run of the game for Calhoun was scored by Keegan Sabol as he reached base on the lone base hit surrendered by Schultz.
