Jr. League Softball – Brown Co. vs. Pike Co.

Posted: June 28, 2011 in Broadcast Recap, Little League, Softball

The IL District 17 Jr. League softball district finals got underway last night in Mt. Sterling as Brown County and Pike County squared off in an opening round game.  Brown County found their offensive power right off the bat in this one as they scored 3 runs in the first inning and would never look back as Pike County just could not find the offensive power that they needed.  Do not discount this Pike County team by any means as they played extremely solid defense last night and if they could find a way to get the bats going they will be a very hard out for any team.  The final score in this game was 7-4 in favor of Brown County.  Leah Roher went 2-3 at the plate for Brown County and also came in and finished up the game from the mound, in a solid performance.  Pike County’s MaKenzie Flowers went 1-2 at the plate and scored 2 runs and also drew 2 walks on the night.  Brown County will play on Tuesday night against Beardstown, Pike County will play the looser of Brown County and Beardstown on Wednesday night.  All games at 6 pm.
