2010 Spartan Classic: Carlinville vs. Brown County

Posted: December 7, 2010 in Basketball, Broadcast Recap

Last night Brown County faced Carlinville in their opening round matchup at the 2010 Spartan Classic.  This year’s team from Carlinville is a very young team and that would become very noticeable early on in the contest as  Brown County got off to a very hot start and never looked back.  After the first quarter of play BC was on top by a score of 15-5 and that would be as close as Carlinville could keep the score as Brown County wins this game 57-25 to advance to the second round.  Jacob Wilson led all scorers in the ballgame with 11 points has he continued his hot streak from behind the arc.  Alex Sheppard also added 9 points to the cause tonight.  Brown County shot 19-56, 34%, from the field and they went 10-22, 45%, from the free throw line.  The hornets advance to the semifinal game on Thursday night at 8pm against Routt.
